Company Description

Symhas, established in 2023, is a next-generation Oracle consulting company specializing in Oracle Fusion HCM, ERP, and Cloud transformation solutions. Focused on delivering tailored implementations and providing high-quality support services, we help enterprises modernize their Oracle environments with precision and scalability. With decades of combined Oracle experience, our team helps clients streamline business processes, optimize workflows, and drive digital transformation. At Symhas, we prioritize trust, agility, and measurable results to maximize the value of Oracle investments for our clients.

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Oracle Retail Techno-Functional Consultant to join our delivery team. In this role, you will act as the critical bridge between US-based business stakeholders and the technical delivery teams. You will be responsible for solution design, configuration, customization, and support of the Oracle Retail Merchandising Operations Management (MOM) suite.

The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of retail business processes (Merchandising, Pricing, Sales Audit) and the technical prowess (PL/SQL, Forms, Integration) to execute them.

1. Domain Expertise (Functional)

Candidates must demonstrate deep functional knowledge of the Oracle Retail MOM Suite.

  • Core Modules: Expert-level understanding of RMS (Retail Merchandising System), ReSA (Retail Sales Audit), and RPM (Retail Price Management).
  • Secondary Modules: Familiarity with ReIM (Retail Invoice Matching) and SIM/SIOCS (Store Inventory Operations).
  • Business Processes:
  • Merchandising: Item creation (hierarchies, diffs), Supplier management, Purchase Orders (PO), and Inventory Management (transfers, RTVs, stock counts).
  • Pricing: Regular price changes, clearances, promotions, and complex pricing strategies.
  • Sales Audit: Transaction validation, error correction, and total balancing (export to GL/ERP).
  • Financials: General Ledger (GL) mapping and stock ledger integration.
  • Lifecycle Experience: Experience with at least 2 full-lifecycle implementations (Upgrade or Cloud implementation experience is a massive plus).

2. Technical Expertise (Techno)

Candidates must be hands-on and capable of debugging, coding, and solutioning.

  • Database & Scripting:
  • Strong proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL (Packages, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Complex Cursors).
  • Performance Tuning (Query optimization, Explain plans, Indexing).
  • Unix/Linux Shell Scripting (Korn/Bash) for batch processing and automation.
  • Development Tools: Experience with Oracle Forms/Reports (for legacy RMS) and ADF (Application Development Framework) for newer versions/Cloud UI extensions.
  • Integration (RIB/RICS):
  • Working knowledge of Oracle RIB (Retail Integration Bus) and RSB (Retail Service Backbone).
  • Experience with RICS (Retail Integration Cloud Service) and familiarity with payload structures (XML/JSON).
  • Batch Processing: Deep understanding of the Oracle Retail Batch Schedule (Pro*C wrappers, dependencies, and restart/recovery procedures).

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering: Lead workshops with US client business users to understand requirements; perform Gap Analysis between business needs and standard Oracle Retail functionality.
  • Solution Design: Author detailed Functional Design Documents (FDD) and Technical Design Documents (TDD) for extensions and customizations.
  • Development & Configuration: Configure the RMS/RPM/ReSA applications and develop custom PL/SQL code or scripts to bridge functional gaps.
  • Integration Support: Monitor and troubleshoot data flow issues between RMS and downstream systems (POS, WMS, Financials) via RIB.
  • Testing & QA: Create functional test cases, support System Integration Testing (SIT), and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with the client.
  • Production Support: Triage critical P1/P2 incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and provide fixes during the US business day overlap.

US Client Prerequisites

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English is non-negotiable. You must be able to articulate complex technical issues to non-technical business users.
  • Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work a shifted schedule (e.g., 2:00 PM 11:00 PM IST) to ensure adequate overlap with US East Coast or West Coast teams.
  • Consulting Mindset: Proactive approach to problem-solving; ability to push back on customizations when standard functionality suffices.

Qualifications

  • Education: B.E./B.Tech/M.C.A in Computer Science or related field.

Experience:

  • Mid-Level: 36 years of relevant Oracle Retail experience.
  • Senior-Level: 69 years of relevant experience, including team leadership.
  • Certifications: Oracle Retail certifications (RMS/Cloud Foundation) are highly preferred.
