Application DBA Responsibilities:
- Creating and maintaining database structures with high-level security features
- Strong PL/SQL experience and guide the team on Oracle PLSQL best practices
- Performance tuning SQL and processes
- Setting up database user accounts and maintaining/controlling user access
- Creating autonomous database backups
- Updating the database security protocols while working with other DBAs
- Monitoring and maintaining Oracle environments in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Participate in on-call rotation
Database Administrator Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in computer engineering or computer science
- 5+ years experience as an Oracle Database Administrator
- Proven knowledge of DDL, DCL, and DML
- Familiarity with Oracle database design, PL/SQL, and documentation
- Ability to fine tune SQL queries to support application team for query performance.
- Ability to monitor database for health checks, sequence limits, backup procedures.
- Familiarity with Oracle RAC Infrastructure
- Knowledge RMAN, Data Guard, Automatic Storage Management (ASM), and Goldengate
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of OCI is a plus or any cloud exposure.
