As an Oracle Database Administrator (L3), you will be responsible for the design, implementation, performance tuning, high availability, backup/recovery, and advanced troubleshooting of Oracle databases in mission-critical environments. This senior-level position requires deep technical expertise, handling escalations, and close collaboration with application, infrastructure, and security teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide L3 support for Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c, and newer).
- Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migrations.
- Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions using RMAN, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
- Perform database performance tuning including SQL tuning, AWR, ASH, partitioning, and indexing strategies.
- Ensure database security, auditing, and compliance with enterprise policies.
- Design and manage high availability solutions including RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and clustering.
- Implement and maintain database monitoring, capacity planning, and automation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues escalated from L1/L2 teams.
- Collaborate with developers, application owners, and system admins to optimize database usage.
- Create and maintain SOPs, technical documentation, and knowledge base articles.
- Participate in on-call support rotation and provide RCA (Root Cause Analysis) for P1/P2 incidents.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 7-12+ years of experience in Oracle Database Administration.
- Expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, GoldenGate, and RMAN.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, partitioning, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Cloud Control.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting for automation.
- Experience with database security, encryption, auditing, and compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud-based Oracle DB solutions (OCI, AWS RDS for Oracle, Azure) is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts (shift cab allowances provided).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or higher.
- Experience in large enterprise environments with mission-critical databases.
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud database administration.
