Job Title: Oracle Database Performance & Infrastructure Specialist
Role Summary
We are seeking an Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) with 3 to 6 years of experience to join our team in Chennai. This role is a high-impact position focused on database performance diagnostics and infrastructure management across multiple Lines of Business (LOBs). You will be responsible for identifying and resolving complex performance bottlenecks using AWR and other Oracle metrics, while also leading end-to-end installations and RAC configurations. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise and strong soft skills to influence customer decisions and project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Performance Diagnostics & Analysis: Use AWR (Automatic Workload Repository), ADDM, and ASH reports to proactively identify performance bottlenecks, locking issues, and resource contention.
- Troubleshooting: Provide root-cause analysis and definitive solutions for database performance degradation, including SQL tuning and memory optimization.
- Infrastructure Management: Lead the installation and configuration of Oracle Database environments (12c/19c) on Linux/Unix platforms.
- High Availability: Configure and manage Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) and Grid Infrastructure to support mission-critical, high-availability projects.
- Customer Interaction & Influence: Present technical findings and performance metrics to customers and stakeholders. Use data-driven insights to influence project roadmaps and architectural changes.
- LOB Support: Act as a centralized resource supporting various project teams across different business units to ensure database stability and scalability.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience:36 years of intensive experience as an Oracle DBA.
- Location: Based in or willing to relocate to Chennai.
- Certification:Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) is highly preferred.
- Technical Expertise:
- Profound knowledge of AWR, ADDM, and ASH reports.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC and ASM.
- Expertise in Oracle installation, patching, and version upgrades.
- Proficiency in SQL Tuning and Optimizer statistics.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to negotiate with and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
