Role: Experienced Oracle APEX Developer to design, build, and optimize high-performing APEX applications for retail use-cases (POS support dashboards, pricing/promotion workflows, inventory & replenishment, vendor portals, order orchestration). You'll own end-to-end deliveryrequirements, UX, PL/SQL, integrations, performance tuning, and production support.
Key Responsibilities: 1. APEX Application Development: Build scalable APEX apps with multi-region pages, interactive reports/grids, LOVs, shared components, and reusable assets (Common/Static Application Files). 2. Performance & Debugging: Diagnose and tune APEX pages with multiple region queries; fix bugs, improve render time, optimize SQL/PLSQL, and streamline page processes. 3. Process Architecture: Design robust Application Processes vs Page Processes, and implement AJAX Processes for dynamic UI updates (partial page refresh) triggered via JavaScript/jQuery. 4. Parameter Handling: Pass parameters to Page Processes/AJAX Processes securely; invoke processes programmatically from JS/jQuery. 5. Interactive Grids (IG): Configure IG for CUD operations; implement row-level processing, validation, and bulk operations; use g_fxx arrays to handle multi-row data. 6. Collections: Bulk load APEX collections; design collection procedures for staging, transformation, and high-volume retail workflows (e.g., price lists, item catalogs). 7. Reporting: Build Report Queries/Report Layouts (printable PDFs/XLS), with drill-downs, aggregations, and export options for retail KPIs. 8. APEX Packages: Use APEX_UTIL, APEX_JSON, APEX_ERROR for utilities, JSON handling, and centralized error management; build consistent error flows and user messaging.
Integrations & APIs: 1. Implement REST integrations with APEX_WEB_SERVICE, handle Request Headers, Content-Type, Content-Length, tokens. 2. Create ACLs (Access Control Lists), HTTPS wallets, and manage Token IDs for secure external calls. 3. Explain and implement HTTP methods (GET/POST/PUT/PATCH/DELETE); handle common errors (500 Internal Server Error, 405 Method Not Allowed, etc.).
Upgrades: Lead/assist APEX upgrades (lower higher versions), document challenges (deprecated components, theme migrations, ORDS compatibility, auth changes), and remediation plan. Data & SQL Excellence, Security & Governance, Proven experience in retail workflows, Expertise in Interactive Grids, APEX Collections, g_fxx arrays, and AJAX-driven UIs. Strong knowledge of Application vs Page Processes, Shared Components, LOVs, Lists, Static Files, Report Query/Layout.
