Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and patient-focused Optometrist to examine patients eyes, diagnose vision problems, and prescribe corrective lenses or appropriate treatment. The candidate will support ophthalmologists in delivering high-quality eye care services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision tests
  • Diagnose refractive errors (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia)
  • Prescribe spectacles and contact lenses
  • Perform refraction and assist in optical dispensing
  • Detect eye abnormalities and refer complex cases to Ophthalmologists
  • Assist in pre-operative and post-operative evaluation of patients
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Operate and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment
  • Provide patient education on eye care and lens usage
  • Support outreach camps and screening programs (if applicable)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Optometry
  • Registration with State Optometry Council (if applicable)
  • Freshers or candidates with 13 years of experience preferred

Required Skills:

  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient-centered approach
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment
  • Basic computer knowledge for EMR documentation
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in hospital-based ophthalmology department
  • Knowledge in contact lens fitting
  • Exposure to optical store operations

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position
  • Rotational shifts (if applicable)
  • May involve participation in eye camps and community programs
