ABOUT VINYL EQUITY
Vinyl Equity is building a modern, digital-native transfer agent for public companies, replacing slow, manual workflows with secure, automated operations. As an Operations Associate, you will run the day-to-day U.S. transfer agency work that keeps transactions moving, compliance clean, and shareholder and issuer requests handled with precision.
Full-time. Fully remote in India, working U.S. Eastern Time hours. Reports to the Operations Lead, India.
THE WORK
You will own the operational execution behind a U.S. stock transfer agency, including:
• Processing transfers, issuances, and DTC activity (DWAC, DRS, FAST) under maker-checker controls.
• Resolving reconciliation and out-of-balance items same-day.
• Reviewing KYC/KYB documentation and triaging false positives against primary sources.
• Escalating OFAC sanctions and adverse-media matches immediately.
• Handling shareholder and issuer support requests via queue, email and phone.
• Supporting SEC compliance reporting (Rules 17Ad-2, 17Ad-6, 17Ad-17, DTCC CBRS, escheatment).
• Supporting proxy season, paying agency, and corporate actions processing.
• Supporting new-issuer onboarding and legacy record ingestion.
• Flagging SOP gaps and procedure drift to the Operations Lead.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
• 3+ years in securities or transfer agency operations.
• Experience from an RTA, global transfer agent, asset manager, or bank securities-services centre.
• Strong data skills in Excel or Sheets, working comfortably with CSV and fixed-width or unfamiliar file formats.
• Confident day-to-day use of Claude or an equivalent AI assistant.
• Meticulous attention to detail and clear written English.
• Reliability with U.S. Eastern Time hours and hard cutoffs.
• High integrity and discretion handling PII and material non-public information.
EVEN BETTER IF
• Exposure to DTC and DTCC systems (FAST, DWAC, DRS Profile, CBRS) and SEC 17Ad-series rules.
• Familiarity with record conversions and deconversions, legacy data migration, or related U.S. compliance topics (Rule 144, medallion guarantees, escheatment, KYC/KYB, AML).
WHO THRIVES HERE
• You treat SOPs like guardrails: follow them precisely, and improve them when reality does not match the document.
• You handle sensitive compliance work with calm urgency. When something looks off, you verify quickly and escalate immediately.
• You are comfortable working to U.S.-hours SLAs from India: steady, dependable and precise even when the day is interrupt-driven.
THE TEAM, COMP AND BENEFITS
You will work with the India Operations Lead as Vinyl Equity builds out the India Operations team. This is a builder-of-execution role where process discipline and escalation judgment matter every day.
• Compensation: competitive, based on experience
• Equity participation
• Comprehensive health insurance (self and family)
• Paid leave and wellness benefits
NON-TRADITIONAL BACKGROUNDS
If you have done high-precision operations in securities, transfer agency, or securities services, especially where reconciliation, KYC/KYB and compliance reporting were part of your daily work, you will likely feel at home here.
