Human Loops is an AI operations company that provides large-scale data collection, processing, and annotation services to global AI and technology companies. Our Nagpur office is the hub of our data operations, handling thousands of hours of video and image data every week.
Role Overview
We are hiring Backend Data Associates to join our office-based data processing team. You will be responsible for receiving recorded data from our field team, uploading it to our systems, performing quality checks, organizing files, and ensuring SD cards are formatted and ready for redeployment.
This is a process-driven, detail-oriented role. You will work with large volumes of data daily and need to be systematic, consistent, and thorough.
What You'll Do Data Upload & Management
- Receive SD cards from the field team and log them into the tracking system (site name, date, card ID, expected hours)
- Upload video/image data from SD cards to designated cloud storage or local servers following the standard file naming and folder structure
- Monitor upload progress and troubleshoot any transfer issues (corrupted files, incomplete transfers, read errors)
- Format and prepare SD cards for return to the field team after successful upload and verification
Quality Review
- Perform first-level quality checks on uploaded data: verify file count, total recording duration, and basic visual quality (camera was recording properly, no blank/black screens, correct orientation)
- Flag any quality issues corrupted files, missing hours, equipment malfunctions — and escalate to the Team Lead
- Maintain a daily QC log with status of each SD card/site upload
Data Organization & Tracking
- Organize uploaded data into the correct project folders by client, site, date, and camera
- Update the master data tracker with upload status, hours collected, and quality scores for each site and collection cycle
- Track SD card inventory: which cards are in the field, which are in the office, which are uploaded, which are ready for redeployment
Process & Coordination
- Coordinate with the field team on SD card handoff schedules to ensure no delays in the upload cycle
- Follow all standard operating procedures for data handling, file management, and quality review
- Assist in preparing daily/weekly data delivery reports as directed by the Team Lead
Requirements Must Have
- Graduate in any discipline (B.Com, BA, BSc, BCA, or equivalent)
- Basic computer proficiency: comfortable working with files, folders, USB devices, and cloud storage platforms
- Familiarity with Excel/Google Sheets for data entry and tracking
- Attention to detail ability to follow a checklist consistently without missing steps
- Good written and verbal communication in Hindi; basic English for documentation
- Available for full-time, on-site work at our Nagpur office
Good to Have
- Prior experience in data entry, back-office operations, BPO, or document processing
- Familiarity with video files, media formats, and file compression
- Basic knowledge of cloud storage tools (Google Drive, AWS, etc.)
- Experience with any inventory or asset tracking system
