Role summary:
Support critical healthcare operations by performing transaction-based work associated with U.S. healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) processes. This role is responsible for completing assigned operational tasks accurately, maintaining required documentation, and contributing to service quality and process improvement efforts. The position is based in Chennai, India. This role is part of the Operations team.

Team summary:
The Operations team is accountable for critical workflow execution across athenahealth services and platforms. The team supports important initiatives within athenaClinicals and athenaCollector by working closely with customers and internal stakeholders. Team members use knowledge of the athenanet platform and healthcare operations processes to help improve service delivery, support workflow accuracy, and contribute to operational effectiveness.

This team plays an important role in maintaining consistency, quality, and efficiency across healthcare-related operational processes. The work requires close attention to process requirements, accurate task execution, and collaboration with team members and partners to support business goals and customer needs.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform assigned tasks and related responsibilities within specified healthcare RCM processes.
  • Complete work in accordance with standard operating procedures and defined quality requirements.
  • Maintain logs, records, and documentation related to completed tasks and workflow activities.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance service quality, process consistency, and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to team goals through accurate execution of assigned work and effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Identify issues in assigned workflows and escalate or address them according to established procedures.
  • Follow process guidelines, compliance requirements, and documentation standards relevant to operational work.
  • Use AI tools, where appropriate, to improve productivity in operational work such as organizing information, summarizing process updates, identifying patterns in recurring issues, and learning new workflows, while reviewing outputs for accuracy, confidentiality, and relevance.
  • Work in rotational night shifts based on business and process requirements.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in updating process documentation when workflow changes are introduced.
  • Participate in team discussions focused on quality, productivity, and service improvements.
  • Support knowledge-sharing activities related to process updates and operational practices.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to help resolve task-related issues.
  • Contribute to maintaining process consistency across recurring operational activities.
  • Help identify opportunities to reduce rework and improve task efficiency.

Expected Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline is preferred.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in the clinical domain or related healthcare operations environment.
  • Experience working on healthcare operational processes, preferably in U.S. healthcare RCM.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and complete work accurately within defined timelines.
  • Experience maintaining records, logs, and process-related documentation.
  • Ability to identify issues, support resolution, and contribute to process improvement efforts.
  • Ability to work in rotational night shifts based on business requirements.
