Job Description

Zycus is looking for an experienced OpenShift Administrator / Platform Engineer to manage, optimize, and support enterprise Red Hat OpenShift environments while driving automation and AI-enabled operational improvements. The role will focus on OpenShift cluster administration, Kubernetes platform management, DevOps enablement, infrastructure automation, and adoption of AI-driven practices for enhanced reliability and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, Linux administration, container technologies, cloud platforms, and automation tools. The candidate should also demonstrate an interest in leveraging AI and AIOps capabilities to improve monitoring, troubleshooting, incident management, and platform operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage enterprise Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) clusters across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Perform OpenShift installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, scaling, and lifecycle management.
  • Manage Kubernetes/OpenShift resources including Pods, Deployments, Services, Routes, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Persistent Volumes, Storage Classes, and Operators.
  • Monitor cluster health, availability, performance, capacity utilization, and application reliability.
  • Troubleshoot OpenShift platform issues, application deployment failures, networking issues, storage problems, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Manage authentication, authorization, RBAC policies, security configurations, and access controls.
  • Support CI/CD pipeline integration and application deployments on OpenShift platforms.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud, Security, and Application teams to ensure stable and scalable platform operations.
  • Automate operational tasks using scripting, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and configuration management tools.
  • Implement best practices for backup, disaster recovery, high availability, and platform security.
  • Maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge repositories.

AI & AIOps Responsibilities

  • Leverage AI-powered tools and automation capabilities to improve infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency.
  • Use GenAI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or similar enterprise AI assistants for operational documentation, scripting support, knowledge management, and issue analysis.
  • Explore AIOps capabilities such as intelligent alerting, anomaly detection, predictive monitoring, and automated incident remediation.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive platform administration tasks using AI-assisted workflows.
  • Support AI/ML application deployment requirements on Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to enable AI-driven improvements in platform reliability, scalability, and performance optimization.
  • Stay updated with emerging AI technologies relevant to cloud-native platforms, Kubernetes, DevOps, and enterprise infrastructure management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) or equivalent technical degree.
  • 4–9 years of experience in Linux administration, Kubernetes administration, OpenShift administration, or cloud platform engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) administration.
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture, container orchestration, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Experience with OpenShift cluster installation, configuration, upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Strong Linux administration skills (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Podman.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts including DNS, Load Balancers, Ingress, Routes, Firewalls, and Security Policies.
  • Experience with storage concepts including Persistent Volumes, Storage Classes, and CSI drivers.
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK Stack, Splunk, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues.
  • Understanding of AI-enabled automation, AIOps concepts, or AI-assisted operational practices.

Location: Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai.

Good to Have

  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (EX280) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience managing OpenShift on cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with OpenShift Operators, Helm charts, Kubernetes manifests, and GitOps practices.
  • Experience with automation using Ansible, Python, Bash, or Shell scripting.
  • Exposure to DevSecOps practices, security scanning, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience supporting enterprise SaaS applications on container platforms.
  • Experience deploying or supporting AI/ML workloads, LLM-based applications, or GPU-enabled workloads on Kubernetes/OpenShift.
  • Familiarity with AIOps platforms and AI-driven monitoring solutions.
