Key responsibilities
- Network design and implementation: Plan and install new network components, including physical hardware, to meet business needs.
- Maintenance and upgrades: Perform regular maintenance, install software patches, and upgrade network hardware to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Troubleshooting and support: Diagnose and resolve network hardware, software, and connectivity issues, providing on-site technical support to users.
- Security: Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, access controls, and VPNs, to protect data and systems.
- Monitoring and analysis: Monitor network performance, analyze data to identify potential issues, and make recommendations for improvements.
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date records of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
- User and vendor collaboration: Coordinate with users to address their needs and work with third-party vendors for services and support.
Required skills and qualifications
- Deep understanding of networking technologies and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Experience with network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage projects and work autonomously
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles
