Role Description
This full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru is for an Offshore Structural Lead Engineer. The professional will be responsible for leading structural engineering and analysis efforts for offshore projects. Core tasks include performing complex structural calculations, overseeing CAD designs, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the safety and efficiency of offshore structures. The role will also include mentoring junior engineers and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Designing and analyzing offshore structures such as topside and jackets.
- Experience in performing Pre-service and In-service analyses on topside and jacket structures.
- Conducting feasibility studies and providing technical input for offshore projects.
- Performing structural calculations to ensure the integrity and safety of offshore structures.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions for offshore engineering challenges.
- Reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and codes to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Conducting site visits and inspections to assess the condition and performance of offshore structures.
- Able to identify the anomaly from structural inspection report (for offshore topside/underwater and onshore structure), perform risk assessment and provide engineering repair recommendation.
- Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including design reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Participating in project meetings and providing technical guidance to project teams.
- Assisting in the preparation of project proposals, including cost estimates and schedules.
- Familiar with relevant civil & structural codes such as API, AISC, ACI, Euro.
- Good communication (written and verbal) in interacting with multinational customers/ site engineers and in answering technical queries.
- Should be able to train and mentor junior team members by creating training material and conducting training sessions.
Work Experience
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
- Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering. Master's degree in structural engineering will be an added advantage.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in offshore oil and gas projects
- Hand-on experience in developing & analyzing steel and reinforced concrete structures (including foundation) models using industry standard software preferably STAAD Pro, SACS, Mathcad. Knowledge of FEA software like Ansys and Abaqus is an added advantage.
- Hand-on experience in developing design calculation sheets for reinforced concrete and steel structures using design codes and standards.
- Fair work experience on Excel and other MS applications.
- Fluent English (Written and oral communication skills.)
