Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Occupational Therapist role based in Kozhikode. The Occupational Therapist will assess clients functional abilities, design individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions to improve daily living, sensory, motor, and cognitive skills. Responsibilities include working with children and adults, collaborating with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams, and documenting assessments, goals, progress notes, and outcomes accurately and on time. The role involves planning and leading therapeutic activities, recommending adaptive equipment or environmental modifications, and providing caregiver education to support carryover at home and in the community. The therapist will also participate in case discussions, community outreach, and program development to strengthen Thanal's rehabilitation services.
Qualifications
- Strong core clinical skills in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation.
- Foundational understanding of Medicine and related healthcare concepts to collaborate effectively with medical and allied health professionals.
- Experience or strong interest in Pediatrics, including working with children with developmental, sensory, or physical challenges.
- Excellent Communication skills for interacting with clients, families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams in a clear, empathetic, and culturally sensitive manner.
- Recognized degree in Occupational Therapy and current or eligible professional registration/licensure as required by local regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a community-focused, resource-conscious setting.
- Strong documentation, time-management, and organizational skills, with commitment to ethical and client-centered practice.
- Prior experience in NGO, community health, or rehabilitation settings is an advantage.
