Position: Child Therapist (Occupational Therapist)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate children's motor skills, sensory processing and activities of daily living.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, incorporating therapeutic activities to enhance fine motor skills, sensory integration, coordination, and self-care abilities.
- Provide therapeutic interventions using evidence-based practices to improve functional abilities and independence in children.
- Collaborate closely with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to therapy and continuity of care.
- Monitor and document progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team and stakeholders.
- Educate families and caregivers on strategies and techniques to support children's development and promote carryover of therapeutic goals in home and educational settings.
- Stay updated with advancements in pediatric occupational therapy through continuous learning and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
- State licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in a clinical or educational setting.
- Strong understanding of child development, sensory integration, and various therapeutic approaches.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach and a genuine interest in improving the lives of children and their families.
Added Qualifications (Not Mandatory):
- Certification in Sensory Integration (SIPT) or other relevant pediatric specialty certifications.
- Experience with assistive technology and adaptive equipment for children.
