Role Overview
The Staff Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care in the Outpatient Department (OPD), supporting clinicians in patient assessment, treatment, and follow-up care. The role requires strong clinical skills, patient-centred care, accurate documentation, and adherence to hospital protocols to ensure safe and efficient outpatient services
Key Responsibilities
Outpatient Clinical Care:
- Assist doctors during OPD consultations, procedures, and examinations.
- Perform basic nursing assessments including vital signs, patient history, and preliminary observations.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed.
- Prepare patients for minor procedures and investigations.
Patient Management & Care Coordination
- Register, guide, and educate patients on OPD processes and follow-up visits.
- Ensure continuity of care through proper counselling, referrals, and coordination with other departments.
- Monitor patient flow to ensure efficient OPD operations.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records, nursing notes, and treatment documentation.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, infection control protocols, and clinical standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in patient care.
Patient Education & Support
- Educate patients and caregivers on medications, procedures, and post-consultation care.
- Provide emotional support and address patient concerns with empathy and professionalism.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or BSc in Nursing from a recognised institution.
- Valid registration with the State Nursing Council.
- Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably in OPD, hospital nursing, or clinical care settings.
- Good knowledge of nursing procedures, patient assessment, and clinical documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare teams.
- Languages- Hindi and English (spoken and written); local dialects are an advantage
