Job Description

The ANM / School Health Nurse will support the effective functioning of the Hans Wellness Centre within assigned schools. The role focuses on providing preventive, promotive, and basic curative healthcare services to school-going children, maintaining health records, assisting the Medical Officer, and engaging with parents and school authorities to enhance students physical, mental, and social well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

School Health Services

  • Support day-to-day operations of the Hans Wellness Centre in the assigned school(s).
  • Conduct physical health screenings of students as per program guidelines.
  • Assist the Medical Officer in delivering primary healthcare services.
  • Provide preventive, promotive, and curative healthcare under medical supervision.

Health Records and Documentation

  • Maintain and update digital health records through the designated mobile application.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of services provided and activities undertaken.
  • Maintain individual student health records and reports as required by management.

Student and Parent Engagement

  • Provide basic health education to students on hygiene, nutrition, and well-being.
  • Participate in ParentTeacher Meetings to discuss student health concerns.
  • Conduct home visits as directed by the Medical Officer or Project Manager.

Program and Field Support

  • Provide medical assistance in other schools, community centers, or clusters when required.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and seminars organized by THF.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities assigned by THF management from time to time.

Behavioral Expectations

  • Demonstrate empathy and compassion while working with children and communities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student health information at all times.
  • Show adaptability, willingness to learn, and problem-solving ability as per project needs.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) course completed, or
  • Registration with Delhi Nursing Council (Mandatory)

Experience and Other Requirements:

  • 23 years of experience in field or clinical settings, preferably in pediatrics.
  • Prior experience in social development or community-based health projects preferred.
  • Ability to work sensitively with children, parents, and school staff.

Working Days and Timings:

  • Monday to Saturday
  • 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
