Role Overview
We are looking for a Non-Fiction English Script Writer who can write clear, spoken-word scripts for parenting and early childhood content.
This role requires strong command over English, sharp thinking, and the ability to explain complex ideas simply without diluting meaning. Your scripts will be spoken directly to parents, often in video format, and must sound natural, thoughtful, and human.
Key ResponsibilitiesScript Writing for Short-Form Video
- Write 3090 second scripts for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Meta ads
- Create clear openings without clickbait or fear-based hooks
- Use conversational, spoken English suitable for a global audience
- Keep pacing tight while preserving depth
Long-Form Educational Scripts
- Write 530 minute scripts for courses, workshops, and learning modules
- Structure content for clarity and learning progression
- Break down research-backed ideas into parent-friendly language
- End scripts with grounded, actionable takeaways
Language Quality and Voice
- Write grammatically strong, neutral-accent English
- Maintain Nestology's voice: calm, confident, respectful
- Avoid jargon, filler, and motivational fluff
- Ensure scripts sound natural when read aloud
Accuracy and Responsibility
- Work with research notes and expert inputs
- Avoid absolutes and exaggerated claims
- Flag areas needing clarification or expert validation
- Respect diversity in parenting styles and child development
Collaboration and Iteration
- Work closely with founders, editors, and educators
- Revise scripts based on feedback
- Improve structure and clarity across iterations
- Maintain consistency across multiple content pieces
Required Skills and ExperienceWriting Skills
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Strong non-fiction storytelling ability
- Comfort writing for voice, not just reading
- Ability to simplify complex ideas responsibly
Experience
- 2+ years of experience in non-fiction writing preferred
- Experience writing scripts, explainers, or educational content
- Portfolio required. Spoken-word scripts are strongly preferred
Domain Familiarity
- Interest in parenting, child development, psychology, or education
- Familiarity with Montessori or evidence-based frameworks is a plus
- Willingness to read and understand research summaries
