NOC Lead (47 Years) Roles & Responsibilities

NOC Operations Leadership

• Lead and manage day-to-day NOC operations to ensure 247 monitoring coverage.
• Supervise NOC engineers, ensuring timely alert response, incident handling, and escalation.
• Define and enforce incident response procedures, escalation matrix, and operational standards.
• Ensure adherence to SLAs, MTTR, and operational KPIs.

Incident & Major Incident Management

• Act as Incident Commander during high-severity incidents (P1/P0).
• Coordinate with Engineering, DevOps, Security, Database, and Product teams during incident resolution.
• Lead incident communication, tracking, and resolution management.
• Conduct incident reviews and post-incident analysis.

Monitoring & Observability Governance

Own and continuously improve monitoring strategy across infrastructure, applications, databases, and security.

Ensure optimal usage and configuration of:

• AWS CloudWatch
• Elastic APM
• Kibana dashboards
• Percona Monitoring and Management
• Snyk
• Vulnerability monitoring tools (NST Assure)
• Identify monitoring gaps and work with engineering teams to improve observability.

Proactive Reliability & Risk Management

• Identify reliability risks, system bottlenecks, and recurring incidents.
• Drive proactive incident prevention initiatives.
• Establish alert tuning, noise reduction, and actionable alert strategies.
• Improve system availability, stability, and reliability posture.

Security & Vulnerability Oversight

• Monitor and track vulnerabilities reported via Snyk and NST Assure.
• Ensure timely escalation and remediation tracking of critical vulnerabilities.
• Work closely with Security and Engineering teams to improve system security posture.

Process Improvement & Automation

• Develop and improve operational playbooks, runbooks, and SOPs.
• Identify opportunities to automate monitoring, alerting, and operational workflows.
• Drive operational efficiency and reduce manual effort through automation.

Reporting & Stakeholder Communication

Provide regular reports on:

• Incident metrics
• System uptime and availability
• Vulnerability status
• Operational performance
• Communicate operational health to engineering leadership and stakeholders.

Team Development & Mentorship

• Mentor and train NOC engineers.
• Build operational expertise across monitoring tools and incident handling.
• Establish strong operational discipline and reliability culture.
