Job Description

A leading tertiary-care healthcare provider in the specialty surgical care sector, delivering advanced neurosurgical, neurocritical and trauma services across high-volume urban centres in India. The team combines acute neurotrauma management, elective cranial and spinal procedures, and multidisciplinary perioperative care with a focus on outcomes, safety and teaching.

Primary title: Consultant Neurosurgeon (On-site — India)

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform a broad range of elective and emergency neurosurgical procedures including complex cranial, cerebrovascular and spinal surgeries with high standards of operative safety and documentation.
  • Manage neurotrauma and neurocritical-care patients in coordination with neuroanaesthesia and ICU teams; lead bedside decision-making and escalation for acute cases.
  • Run outpatient clinics, pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-up to ensure continuity of patient care and rehabilitation planning.
  • Lead multidisciplinary case conferences and tumour boards; coordinate imaging, intraoperative monitoring and perioperative planning with allied teams.
  • Supervise, teach and mentor residents, fellows and nursing staff; contribute to clinical governance, audit and morbidity-mortality reviews to drive quality improvement.
  • Contribute to departmental research, protocol development and maintenance of operative logs, consent and medico-legal records in compliance with institutional policies.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Must-Have
  • MCh/DNB in Neurosurgery or equivalent specialist qualification recognised in India; valid medical registration with NMC/state council.
  • Proven operative competence in cranial and spinal surgery with experience managing neurotrauma and neuro-ICU patients.
  • Proficiency with operating microscope, neuronavigation platforms and intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring workflows.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and supervising trainees in a tertiary-care setting.
  • Strong clinical governance orientation with experience in audit, complication management and adherence to patient-safety protocols.
  • Preferred
  • Fellowship or focused training in cerebrovascular, spine, skull-base or endoscopic neurosurgery.
  • Track record of peer-reviewed publications, clinical research, or participation in multicentre registries.
  • Experience with minimally invasive spine techniques and endoscopic skull-base procedures.
