Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Network Operations & Administration:

  • Monitor and manage the health and performance of enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VoIP systems, using network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Cisco Prime)..
  • Respond to incidents and service requests escalated from L1 NOC teams within agreed SLAs.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting on network connectivity issues, configuration problems, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Execute standard changes and network configuration updates under supervision of L3 or Senior Administrators.
  • Support proactive capacity monitoring and trend analysis to identify potential issues before impact.

Incident & Problem Management

  • Investigate and resolve L2-level incidents related to switches, routers, wireless access points, and voice systems.
  • Escalate complex or persistent issues to L3 or vendor support, providing complete diagnostics and documentation.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) reports and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, changes, and configurations within ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy).Participate in planning and execution of new automotive plant rollouts, network expansions, and system integrations.

Maintenance & Configuration

  • Apply configuration updates, firmware upgrades, and patch management under change control procedures.
  • Assist in network infrastructure deployments, migrations, and hardware replacements.
  • Maintain network documentation, including topology diagrams, asset lists, and configuration archives.

Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with cross-functional IT teams (Security, Systems, OT Engineers) to support plant and office network reliability.
  • Support industrial network connectivity for manufacturing systems (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP, etc.).
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to L1 support staff.

Primary Skills

  • Hands-on experience with LAN/WAN/WLAN & VoIP infrastructure in enterprise or industrial environments.
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco/Aruba/Juniper switches, routers, and access points.
  • Solid understanding of routing and switching protocols (VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, QoS).
  • Experience in VoIP systems (Cisco CUCM, SIP, call routing, and QoS for voice).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (Zabbix, SolarWinds, PRTG,Cisco Prime, etc.).

Secondary Skills

  • Knowledge of industrial networking protocols (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP).
  • Basic understanding of network security concepts, including ACLs, VPNs, and firewall policies.
  • Exposure to SD-WAN, network automation tools, or scripting (Python, Ansible).
  • Understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, and Change Management).
  • Awareness of automotive plant IT/OT convergence and Industry 4.0 networking standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 36 years of hands-on experience in enterprise or industrial network support roles.
  • Industry certifications preferred: CCNA / CCNP / CompTIA Network+ / ITIL Foundation.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a 24x7 NOC environment with rotating shifts and on-call support.

Work Environment

  • Shift-based operations in a 24x7 global NOC environment.
  • May require on-site support at automotive manufacturing plants during maintenance or deployment activities.
  • Collaboration with global IT teams and third-party vendors
