OP is partnering with a globally renowned leader in media, entertainment, and consumer experiences to secure a talented Network Operations Engineer to ensure the availability, performance, and reliability of our global network infrastructure. This role operates at the intersection of real-time monitoring, incident response, automation, and continuous improvement, supporting mission-critical services across enterprise and customer-facing environments. You will play a key role in evolving our network operations from reactive support to proactive, intelligence-driven operations.
Key Responsibilities- Network Monitoring & Incident Management
- Monitor network health across the Company.
- Detect, triage, and troubleshoot first-line incidents using available tools, resources, and documented procedures.
- Document all troubleshooting steps, updates, and resolutions in an IT service management (ITSM) ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
- Identify when a problem requires advanced intervention and escalate to higher tiers or management as needed.
- Support or participate in major incident response (MIM) bridges.
- Provide support to root cause analysis (RCA) and post-incident reviews through detailed documentation and data collection.
- Network Operations & Reliability
- Implement solutions using automation with clear test plans, methods of procedures (MOPs), and rollback strategies.
- Help support uptime and performance targets for critical network services.
- Provide day-to-day support for routing, switching, and network security infrastructure, including management platforms.
- Assist with scheduled network changes and maintenance activities while following established change management procedures.
- Collaborate with NetDevOps teams and escalation tiers to improve runbooks and workflows.
- Automation & Tooling
- Use our automated tooling for routine network support.
- Leverage Automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce MTTR.
- Use integrated observability tools (logs, metrics, traces) in workflows.
- Identify repetitive alerts and actions, and document detailed feedback to drive auto-remediation initiatives.
- Execute and validate automated workflow actions to confirm completion. Troubleshoot jobs while executing to identify. efficiencies/possible remediations.
- Observability & Proactive Operations
- Review network monitoring and telemetry data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential issues.
- Support alert reviews and tuning efforts to improve accuracy and reduce unnecessary noise.
- Assist with proactive maintenance activities and identify opportunities to prevent recurring incidents.
- Support the use and ongoing improvement of observability tools, dashboards, and operational workflows.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with other NetDevOps teams across Global Network Engineering, Security, Cloud, and Application teams.
- Support vendor engagement and service provider coordination.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders during incidents and outages.
- Operate within a 24/7 shift model with clean handoffs across regional peers.
Qualifications
- 1-3+ years of experience in network operations or NOC environments.
- Foundational knowledge of one or more routing and switching protocols: OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, STP, Fabric Path, VXLAN.
- Experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls, and their place in the OSI model.
- Familiarity with monitoring and incident management tools (e.g., LogicMonitor, Datadog, Splunk, ServiceNow).
- Foundational understanding of network automation (Python, Ansible, or similar).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on detailed documentation.
- Proven track record collaborating with cross-functional technical and managerial teams to resolve complex problems.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong ownership and follow-through.
- Foundational knowledge of WAN and LAN concepts, including basic configuration, installation, and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of LAN environments, including hardware, software, and cabling for Ethernet.
- Basic understanding of cloud networking fundamentals (e.g., VPCs, Subnets, Security Groups, Internet Gateways).
- Foundational knowledge of network security concepts and firewall technologies.
- Basic understanding of fiber-based network infrastructure and connectivity concepts.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite.
Must Haves (Years Of Experience, Languages, Programs, Tools, Etc.)
- 1-3 years of professional experience in IT/network operations center (NOC).
- Experience with IT/NOC processes, including ticket management and runbook execution.
- Experience working with monitoring tools to support real-time network visibility and operational response.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to triage and escalate incidents appropriately.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with automation/scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform) and infrastructure as code concepts.
- Exposure to cloud networking (AWS/Azure/GCP), transit/Virtual WAN, and hybrid connectivity.
- Experience with platforms such as Cisco Catalyst/Nexus/ASR/Juniper and Panorama.
- One or more entry-level network certifications (Cisco CCNA/CCST; Palo Alto PCCET/Cybersecurity Apprentice, or Cybersecurity Practitioner[WR7.1]; CompTIA Network+/Security+) or equivalent.
- Experience in a 24/7, shift-based environment.
Education
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
