Hiring: Senior Operations Engineer DWDM / Optical Network Performance

Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Operations Engineer Optical Network Performance to support and enhance large-scale DWDM transport networks.
The role requires strong troubleshooting expertise, hands-on experience with multi-vendor optical platforms, and the ability to drive network performance improvement initiatives across production environments.
This position will work closely with NCC, TAC, Field Teams, and OEM Vendors to ensure high network availability, service reliability, and proactive fault prevention.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics on DWDM / Optical transport networks
- Investigate complex, intermittent, and service-impacting issues
- Execute remote testing and coordinate field testing (on-net and off-net circuits)
- Create, review, and implement maintenance requests (including after-hours activities)
- Coordinate with field technicians for fault isolation and restoration
- Work closely with NCC and TAC to ensure health of priority and backbone circuits
- Track incidents, provide structured ticket updates, and drive RCA closure
- Perform network performance analysis and trend monitoring
- Identify recurring issues and recommend permanent fixes
- Run scripts and automate repetitive network checks
- Identify automation opportunities and document requirements for development teams
- Interface with OEM vendors (Ciena, Infinera, Nokia/Alcatel, etc.) for escalations
- Participate in customer meetings when required
Required Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in DWDM / Optical Transport Networks
- Minimum:
- 5+ years troubleshooting DWDM networks
- 3+ years in Network Operations / NOC / Performance role
- Experience on at least one of the following platforms:
- Ciena 6500
- Infinera (DTN / XTM series)
- Nokia / Alcatel-Lucent 1830 PSS-32 / PSS-16
- Solid understanding of:
- OTN / ROADM / Amplifiers / Optical Power & OSNR
- Fiber impairments and performance monitoring
- Incident Management & RCA processes
- Experience in automation / scripting (Python, Shell, or similar) is a strong plus
- Exposure to multi-vendor environments
- Fiber field experience is an advantage
