Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer with deep expertise in Routing, Switching, and Firewall technologies, and extensive hands-on experience with Alcatel/Nokia networking solutions. The role involves designing, implementing, operating, and troubleshooting large-scale enterprise or service provider networks while ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities
Routing & Switching
- Design, configure, and support enterprise and/or ISP networks using Alcatel/Nokia switches and routers
- Hands-on experience with OmniSwitch & OmniRouter platforms
- Configure and troubleshoot VLANs, Trunking, STP/RSTP/MSTP, LACP, VRRP
- Implement and manage IP routing protocols:
- OSPF, BGP, RIP, Static Routing
- Handle LAN, WAN, MAN environments with high availability requirements
Firewall & Network Security
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot firewalls (any of the following):
- FortiGate, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Check Point (at least one mandatory)
- Implement NAT, ACLs, VPNs (IPSec / SSL)
- Perform security hardening and policy optimization
- Support incident response and security troubleshooting
Operations & Troubleshooting
- Perform L2/L3 troubleshooting for complex network issues
- Analyze packet captures and logs to identify root causes
- Support 24x7 production environments and handle escalations
- Perform firmware/software upgrades and network migrations
Design & Documentation
- Create network designs, HLD/LLD, and implementation plans
- Maintain accurate network documentation and SOPs
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with vendors, OEMs, and service providers
- Participate in technical discussions with internal teams and customers
Mandatory Skills
Alcatel / Alcatel-Lucent / Nokia Networking 6+ years
Routing & Switching Enterprise / ISP level
Firewall configuration & troubleshooting
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model
Hands-on troubleshooting in production environments
