Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled
Network Engineer with strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and hands-on experience in switching, routing, and VLAN configurations. The ideal candidate should be able to manage day-to-day network operations and perform basic troubleshooting. Knowledge of firewalls will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN networks.
- Perform switching and routing configurations based on business requirements.
- Create and manage VLANs, trunk ports, and inter-VLAN routing.
- Monitor network performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
- Diagnose and resolve network issues related to connectivity, performance, or configuration.
- Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining network devices (switches, routers, access points, etc.).
- Document network configurations, changes, and issue-resolution steps.
- Work with senior engineers to support network upgrades, migrations, and security enhancements.
- Basic understanding of firewall concepts; ability to assist in rule modifications (advantageous).
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for any network-related escalations.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, subnetting).
- Hands-on experience with routing and switching technologies.
- Knowledge of VLAN creation and management.
- Basic troubleshooting skills using tools like ping, traceroute, packet captures, etc.
- Good understanding of network hardware (routers, switches, hubs, Wi-Fi access points).
- Firewall knowledge such as policies, NAT, and interfaces is a plus.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or equivalent.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA (preferred but not mandatory).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Network Support / Network Engineering.
