Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to oversee and enhance our IT and network operations. The role involves managing critical trading infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity, and maintaining security standards essential for high-frequency trading.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and manage network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) and trading servers at NSE colocation and other data centers.
- Administer L1/L2 networks, including troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Install, configure, and maintain trading software such as NEAT, NEATPLUS, Greek, Symphony, and proprietary in-house systems.
- Manage and optimize connectivity via V-SAT, MPLS, Point-to-Point Leased Lines, and Internet Leased Lines (ILL).
- Oversee firewalls for site-to-site VPNs and implement robust security measures.
- Maintain and support back-once servers, including the Shilpi system.
- Monitor and analyze server and network performance using tools like PRTG, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with the engineering and trading teams to align IT infrastructure with trading requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related fields.
- Proven experience in managing high-availability IT networks, preferably in the trading domain.
- Expertise in Linux, network security, virtualization, and storage technologies.
- Proficiency with server administration, desktop applications, and operating systems.
- Hands-on experience with MPLS, VPNs, and trading platforms.
- Familiarity with NSE colocation setups is a significant advantage.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ are a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting, project management, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous exposure to high-frequency trading environments or real-time applications.
- Strong scripting skills (Shell, Bash, Python) for automation and configuration tasks.
