Job Description

We seek an experienced low-latency network engineer to join our prop trading infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in designing, implementing, and optimising ultra-low-latency networks in electronic and HFT/MFT. This role requires deep technical knowledge of network protocols, exchange connectivity, market data distribution, and co-location environments.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain low-latency network infrastructure for trading systems.
  • Optimise network paths, jitter, and packet capture to improve microsecond-level performance
  • Manage market data multicast/unicast distribution with reliability and speed.
  • Configure and monitor ultra-low-latency switches and NICs (Arista, Cisco, Mellanox, Solarflare, ExaNIC, etc.).
  • Implement and monitor time synchronisation systems (PTP, NTP).
  • Collaborate with traders, developers, and systems engineers to ensure end-to-end low-latency connectivity.
  • Work with exchange co-location providers to provision, monitor, and troubleshoot circuits.
  • Familiar with cross-connects, fibre latency measurement, and exchange handoffs.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing networks in an exchange colocation data centre (e.g., NSE, BSE, MCX, IFSC).
  • Configure leased lines and VPN tunnels to exchanges/data centres.
  • Work closely with trading and quant teams to minimise round-trip latency.
  • Automate monitoring and reporting of network performance

Job Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in low-latency/high-performance networking, preferably in a trading environment.
  • Strong expertise in TCP/UDP, Multicast, IGMP, BGP, OSPF, QoS, PTP/NTP.
  • Hands-on with Linux networking and kernel tuning.
  • Experience with network packet analysis tools (Corvil, tcpdump, Wireshark, ExaNIC).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and deliver solutions in time-sensitive, high-pressure trading environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in high-frequency trading (HFT), electronic trading, and exchange connectivity.
  • Knowledge of market data feeds (Equities, Derivatives, FX).
  • Certifications: CCIE/CCNP, Arista ACE, Juniper JNCIE, or equivalent.
