Job Description
Title: Network Engineer L1
Experience: 1+ years
Location: Delhi
Notice Period: Immediate joiner or up to 1 month.
We at Coforge are seeking a Network Engineer to support network infrastructure operations and Security Operations Centre (SOC) activities. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining LAN/Data Centre networking environments while ensuring timely incident management and operational support
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage network devices, links, and services to ensure network availability.
- Perform first-level troubleshooting of LAN, WAN, and Data Centre network issues.
- Monitor security alerts and events through SOC tools and escalate incidents as per defined procedures.
- Support administration and maintenance of switches, routers, firewalls, and network security devices.
- Perform log analysis, incident identification, ticket creation, and incident tracking.
- Coordinate with L2/L3 teams for issue resolution and service restoration.
- Monitor network performance and report faults, outages, and security incidents.
- Ensure adherence to IT security policies, operational procedures, and SLAs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, configurations, and operational activities.
- Support security monitoring, vulnerability reporting, and compliance-related activities.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN and Data Center Networking concepts.
- Hands-on exposure to routers, switches, and network monitoring tools.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, and routing/switching fundamentals.
- Basic understanding of SDN/SDA environments.
- Knowledge of SOC operations, SIEM tools, security alerts, and incident management.
- Experience with ticketing and monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts, firewall technologies, and network security best practices.
Desired Skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a 24x7 shift-based operational environment.
- Team player with a proactive and customer-centric mindset.
Preferred Certifications
- CCNA or equivalent networking certification.
- CompTIA Network+ / Security+ (preferred).
- Any SOC or cybersecurity-related certification will be an added advantage.
