As a Network Engineer at Hitachi, Ltd., you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and secure network infrastructures to support our global operations and innovative solutions. You will play a critical role in ensuring network reliability, performance, and scalability.

Job Responsibilities:**

  • Design, configure, and troubleshoot complex network environments, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and cloud-based networks.
  • Implement and manage network security solutions, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and access control lists (ACLs).
  • Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize network configurations for maximum efficiency and uptime.
  • Perform routine network maintenance, upgrades, and patch management.
  • Respond to and resolve network incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective network solutions.
  • Document network topologies, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and solutions to enhance capabilities and reduce costs.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as needed.

Job Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in network engineering or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and network services (DNS, DHCP).
  • Proficiency with network hardware from leading vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Arista).
  • Experience with network security principles and technologies (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).
  • Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS-SP) are highly desirable.
  • Experience with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting) is a plus.
