About The Role
The Network Security Engineer at Knack RCM will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure and security measures. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage complex network environments, ensure robust security protocols, and respond swiftly to emerging threats. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of enterprise network systems, firewall management, and cybersecurity best practices. Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, PCNSA/PCNSE, and CompTIA Security+ are highly preferred. Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade firewall systems like Palo Alto is essential, alongside a strong understanding of IP routing, VLANs, VPNs (IPSec/SSL), DNS, DHCP, and 802.1x. Familiarity with SIEM solutions, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint protection platforms is required. Experience with scripting or automation tools such as Python or Ansible is considered an advantage. The candidate should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Network Administration
- Design, deploy, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure and VPN solutions.
- Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, and wireless access points (Cisco).
- Monitor network performance and ensure high availability and performance.
Firewall And Security
- Configure, manage, and monitor firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto).
- Manage security policies, NAT rules, and VPN tunnels.
- Analyze firewall logs and perform regular security audits.
- Ensure firewall redundancy and high availability.
Cybersecurity And Compliance
- Monitor security breaches and respond to incidents.
- Implement endpoint protection, anti-malware, and data loss prevention solutions.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and coordinate penetration tests.
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with system administrators and IT support teams.
- Provide L2/L3 support for network and security-related issues.
- Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Train staff on network and security best practices when needed.
