Job Description

The Network Automation QA Engineer will validate and ensure the quality of HPE networking software, develop automated test scripts, and work closely with development teams to troubleshoot, analyze, and enhance network features. The role involves mentoring junior engineers and supporting POC/customer issues.

What You'll Do:

  • Understand newly designed network features and clarify requirements with development and PLM teams.
  • Develop, review, and execute test plans within predefined timelines.
  • File Jira tickets for failed test cases or bugs and work with developers to reproduce issues and validate fixes.
  • Suggest product enhancements to improve performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Analyze logs to identify root causes of issues observed during validation.
  • Participate in QA meetings, provide status updates, and discuss testing outcomes.
  • Reproduce and support POC or customer-reported issues.
  • Mentor junior engineers, perform code reviews, and provide technical guidance.
  • Share technical insights (TOIs) and expertise with the QA team on validated features.

What You Need to Bring:

  • BTech/BS/MS/MTech in EE, CS, or related technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience in network automation or QA roles.
  • Strong knowledge of L3 protocols and services: OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, L3VPN, L2VPN, Segment Routing.
  • Strong knowledge of L2 technologies: VLAN, DHCP, STP, VXLAN.
  • Hands-on experience with traffic generation tools and debugging network issues.
  • Strong coding skills, preferably with Python and Robot framework.
  • Experience with system-level testing, log analysis, and bug tracking.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and Jira.
  • Experience with API and UI-based testing.
  • Networking certifications (Juniper/Cisco) are a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and associated container technologies.
