What You'll Lead
MOP Automation (Primary Focus)
- Design and oversee development of automated MOP execution engine
- Build workflows for network device upgrades (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers)
- Create automated rollback mechanisms and safety checks
- Develop pre-flight validation and post-execution verification scripts
Network Automation Solutions
- Configuration management and compliance automation
- Network device provisioning and decommissioning workflows
- Change management automation integrated with ticketing systems
- Reporting and audit trail generation for compliance
Team Leadership
- Lead 7 remote automation engineers (mix of Python/Ansible specialists)
- Conduct code reviews and establish automation standards
- Mentor team members on network automation best practices
- Collaborate with network engineers to translate requirements into automation
Required Qualifications
Technical Expertise
- 15+ years in network automation (Ansible, Python, network APIs)
- Strong networking background - hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Arista,
- Deep understanding of network operations: routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers
- Expert in Ansible for infrastructure automation
- Strong Python skills for scripting and API integration
- Experience with network APIs (NETCONF, RESTCONF, CLI automation)
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
Domain Experience (REQUIRED)
- Prior work in networking, telecom, OR banking/financial services
- Experience automating network changes in production environments
- Understanding of change control processes and risk management
- Experience working in highly regulated environments (compliance, audit requirements)
Leadership & Communication
- Proven track record leading remote/distributed engineering teams
- Strong communication skills to work with network engineers, architects, and stakeholders
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with React or web UI development (for automation dashboards)
- Background in network management platforms (SolarWinds, NetBrain, Cisco DNA Center)
- Knowledge of network orchestration tools (NSO, Itential, StackStorm)
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Certifications: CCIE, CCNP, or equivalent networking credentials
- Prior experience in banking network operations or telecom NOC environments
