Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a national strategy for acquiring and servicing business clients for LAP products.
  • Define and execute business plans to ensure growth in the LAP segment, aligning with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key business clients, ensuring long-term partnerships and satisfaction.
  • Identify new business opportunities and segments within the business client base to expand LAP offerings.

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of sales, relationship managers, and business development professionals at a national level.
  • Set clear performance targets for the team, ensure alignment with company objectives, and monitor progress regularly.
  • Provide training, coaching, and development opportunities to enhance team performance and capabilities.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure that the team meets key KPIs and targets.

Business Development & Client Acquisition:

  • Oversee the acquisition of new business clients for LAP through various channels, including direct sales, partnerships, and referrals.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with business owners, decision-makers, and other key stakeholders within the target segments.
  • Actively explore and enter new markets, identifying potential clients who can benefit from LAP products.
  • Customize LAP solutions based on the client's business needs, ensuring they receive the best possible terms and value.

Client Relationship & Retention:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the client's business model and financial needs to provide tailored LAP solutions.
  • Ensure exceptional service levels for existing business clients, proactively addressing concerns and managing risks.
  • Drive client retention strategies through regular engagement, follow-ups, and providing post-sale support.
  • Address complex client queries or challenges, working with other departments as needed to resolve issues quickly.

Sales Performance & Target Management:

  • Set annual, quarterly, and monthly sales targets for the LAP business vertical, ensuring that targets are met or exceeded.
  • Track and analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity to adjust sales strategies as required.
  • Lead high-level negotiations with clients, ensuring favorable terms for both the client and the organization.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements and industry standards for LAP products.
  • Work closely with the risk management team to evaluate the creditworthiness of business clients applying for LAP.
  • Ensure that all business dealings are conducted with integrity, transparency, and in line with company policies and procedures.

Collaboration & Reporting:

  • Collaborate with internal teams such as credit, underwriting, operations, and legal to ensure smooth loan origination and approval processes.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on the performance of the LAP business segment, including financial outcomes, growth initiatives, and market dynamics.
  • Participate in business reviews, management meetings, and contribute insights on business growth and strategic direction.

Market & Industry Insights:

  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, competitor offerings, and changes in the regulatory environment that may impact the LAP segment.
  • Use market intelligence to anticipate changes in client needs and adjust offerings accordingly.
  • Lead efforts to enhance brand visibility and promote LAP products within relevant business networks and industry forums.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on Loan Against Property (LAP) products or similar business lending solutions.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading high-performing teams across multiple locations.
  • In-depth knowledge of the business lending landscape, with a strong understanding of the regulatory environment governing LAP products.
  • Experience in driving sales growth, managing client relationships, and executing strategic initiatives.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships with senior business clients, industry stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and assess business risks.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and other business development tools.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility to travel extensively across the country to meet business needs and clients.
