ROLE: MSSQL Database Administrator
Experience Range: 4 to 7 yrs(Relevant)

JD:
Required Technical Skill Set:
- Extensive understanding of MSSQL 2000/2005/2008/2012/2014/2016/2017/2019, well-organized
approach to database administration, installation, cloning, performance, backup/recovery and troubleshooting and tuning is required
- Monitors databases and implements changes assuring performance, stability, reliability & availability of database systems.
- Defines and implements access & security controls to protect corporate data and database systems availability.
- Provide primary support for critical, complex production MS SQL databases.
- Provides support to meet objectives of development and testing.
- Troubleshoot, investigate and drive resolution of incidents
- Work closely with internal technical teams during incident resolution and root cause analysis.
- Coordinate interaction with vendors, creating service requests and escalating as needed to ensure timely resolution.
- Provide problem management and resolution for repeat issues.
- Make recommendations and contribute to the design and development of long-term solutions
- Respond to inquiries from business partners related to performance, application errors, storage capacity, etc.
- Review and execute changes including DDL, database configuration changes, patching, and well defined, well documented upgrades.
- Participate in new system builds, create databases, schemas and deploy standard jobs and monitoring.
- Administer User Permissions, logins.
- Through review and solid handoffs, ensure system supportability prior to production utilization.
- Good Knowledge of database system migration and server migration across data center.
- Good Knowledge of database system Upgradation.
- Good Knowledge of Cluster/Always on / replication / Mirroring /Log shipping.
- Good Knowledge of Shell script.
- Good Knowledge of windows.
- Good Knowledge of Backup and Monitoring tools.
- Good Knowledge of query performance tuning.
- Knowledge about t-sql development.
Competencies Required (Technical/Behavioral Competency):
1. Extensive understanding of of MSSQL 2000/2005/2008/2012/2014/2016/2017/2019, well-organized
approach to database administration, performance, backup/recovery and
troubleshooting and tuning is required
2.A background in database administration that includes: administration, development, design, backup & restoration, scalability, capacity & reporting,
data migration, data warehousing, data mining, and reporting.
3.Database performance enhancement and tuning. Proficient in SQL and SQL tuning procedures. Ability to design and implement Database scalability, sizing and capacity.
4. Enterprise knowledge of Data protection concepts and technologies
5. Must have good knowledge of MSSQL Cluster/Always on/Replication/Mirroring/Log Shipping.
6. Customer-service orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Must be a self-starter, able to work independently and take initiative to find solutions for business requirements.
