The essence of the role: Manager - Manager- Record to Report (RTR)


As part of our growing Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru, we are looking for a Manager - Record to Report (RTR), you will play a critical leadership role in managing the end-to-end RTR operations within Sinch's global finance organization. This includes general ledger, fixed assets, intercompany accounting, month-end close, and compliance reporting across multiple geographies.
You will drive operational excellence, process standardization, and automation while leading a team of accounting professionals. This role requires deep technical expertise in accounting, a strong control mindset, and experience navigating a global, matrixed environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, support finance transformation initiatives, and help shape the future of RTR within the GCC.


Your responsibilities


*Core Operations & Compliance
-Lead daily RTR operations including journal processing, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, intercompany, accruals, and month-end close.
-Ensure accuracy and timely closure of books across legal entities in compliance with IFRS/GAAP and company policy.
-Oversee statutory reporting, audit support, and compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements.


*Managership & Development
-Manage, mentor, and coach a team of RTR professionals, fostering a performance-driven and learning-focused culture.
-Define KPIs, review team performance, and drive continuous development through regular feedback and goal setting.
-Support workforce planning, onboarding, and capability building within the RTR team.

*Process Transformation & Automation
-Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities using ERP tools and platforms like SAP, Oracle, or Workday.
-Collaborate with IT and transformation teams to support system upgrades, automation (RPA), and implementation of financial tools like Blackline, Alteryx, or Power BI.
-Standardize RTR operations across geographies and streamline reporting processes to drive efficiency and transparency.

*Transition & Stabilization Support
-Lead RTR transitions into the GCC, ensuring comprehensive documentation, process mapping, and knowledge transfer.
-Monitor process stabilization post-transition, addressing issues promptly to ensure business continuity.

*Stakeholder Management
-Partner with key internal stakeholders such as Controllership, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Business Finance teams to resolve accounting and reporting issues.
-Manage communication with internal and external auditors, ensuring effective audit readiness and compliance.
-Present complex financial and operational information clearly to senior leadership and non-finance teams.


Skills & Experience
*Education
-Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Commerce is required.
-CA / CPA / CMA (US) / MBA Finance is highly preferred.


*Experience
-15+ years of experience in Finance & Accounting, with at least 5 years in a Managerership role within RTR or controllership functions.
-Strong hands-on knowledge of general ledger, intercompany, fixed assets, and financial close processes.
-Proven experience working in a global GCC or shared service center, handling international entities and multi-currency transactions.
-Exposure to ERP platforms like SAP, Oracle, or Workday is essential.

*Technical Competencies
-Deep understanding of accounting standards (IFRS / GAAP), internal controls, and financial compliance (SOX, audit).
-Strong proficiency in MS Excel and experience with automation, reporting, and reconciliation tools (e.g., Blackline, Power BI, Alteryx).
-Experience managing transitions, migrations, and process transformation projects.

*Soft Skills
-Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions and geographies.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
-Effective multitasker who can handle tight deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
