About the Role
We are hiring a Merchandiser for the Apparel Division of a leading global sourcing company.
The ideal candidate should have experience handling EU-based buyers and the ability to manage the complete merchandising cycle from product development to shipment.
This is an execution-driven role that demands strong coordination skills across buyers, suppliers, and internal teams, along with frequent factory visits to monitor production and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a key liaison between EU buyers, vendors, and internal teams across the full order lifecycle
- Manage product development, costing, sourcing, production follow-up, and shipping coordination
- Handle sampling, buyer approvals, and T&A management with precision and accuracy
- Coordinate closely with factories and suppliers, ensuring production timelines and quality standards are met
- Prepare and maintain costing sheets, track fabric/trims/CM/freight, and manage order documentation
- Troubleshoot issues related to approvals, delays, or quality deviations through proactive communication
- Support internal reporting and provide timely updates to buyers and management
- Undertake regular travel to factories for production monitoring, approvals, and vendor coordination
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate or postgraduate degree; a diploma in Textile Technology, Fashion Design, or Merchandising is an advantage
- 68 years of experience in apparel merchandising
- Prior experience with EU-based clients or brands is mandatory
- Strong understanding of garment costing, sourcing, and vendor management
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to handle buyers independently
- Proficiency in MS Excel and merchandising documentation tools
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, travel-intensive environment with strict timelines
Preferred Background
- Candidates from a buying house or liaison office background are strongly preferred
- Candidates from export houses will be considered only if exceptionally strong in communication and execution
- Open to candidates from all apparel categories (men's, women's, and kidswear)
