merchandiser is a retail or supply chain professional who manages inventory, product placement, and in-store or online displays to maximize sales. They ensure the right products are in the right place at the right time.Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Management: Monitor stock levels, rotate products to ensure freshness, and restock shelves to prevent stockouts.Visual Merchandising: Plan and execute appealing product displays, endcap layouts, and promotional signage to attract customer attention.Market Analysis: Analyze sales trends, track consumer behavior, and research competitor pricing to adjust inventory accordingly.Vendor & Store Coordination: Act as a liaison between the company and retail store managers, discussing promotions, product features, and delivery schedules.Compliance & Auditing: Record transactions, process returns, remove damaged or expired items, and report sales metrics to management.Essential QualificationsExperience: Previous background in retail, sales, or inventory management.Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and travel between store locations (for field merchandisers).Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret sales data and forecast product demand.Communication & Organization: Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with store staff and vendors.
