Job Purpose:
The MEP Head will be responsible for overseeing and managing all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) services for real estate projects, ensuring high-quality standards, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. This role requires extensive knowledge of MEP systems design, execution, and maintenance in residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The incumbent will collaborate with project teams, consultants, vendors, and contractors to ensure alignment with project goals and client requirements.
Experience:
15+ years of experience in MEP systems within the real estate, construction, or infrastructure industry.
Proven track record of leading MEP execution for large-scale residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
Experience working with consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
Relevant certifications such as LEED AP, PMP (Project Management Professional), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or equiva-lent will be highly valued.
A Management Degree (MBA or equivalent) will be an added advantage, particularly with a specialization in Project Manage-ment or Operation.
Major Accountabilities:
MEP Design and Planning
Review and approve MEP designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and project specifications.
Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and consultants to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into the design.
Optimize MEP designs for energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
Provide technical solutions and recommendations during the design phase.
Project Execution and Management
Oversee end-to-end MEP project execution, including tendering, procurement, and installation.
Monitor project schedules and ensure MEP milestones are achieved on time; align with OC targets and integrate the same with main schedule.
Conduct regular site visits to inspect MEP installations and ensure quality control.
Address technical challenges during the construction phase and provide resolutions to minimize delays.
Budgeting and Cost Control
Develop MEP budgets for projects and ensure adherence to cost parameters.
Analyze and approve vendor/contractor quotations, ensuring cost efficiency and quality.
Track MEP expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and mitigate overruns.
Vendor and Contractor Management
Select, evaluate, and manage MEP contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
Ensure adherence to contracts, scope of work, and quality standards.
Conduct performance reviews of vendors and contractors and resolve conflicts when necessary.
Prepare pre priced tender packages
Quality Assurance and Compliance
Ensure all MEP systems comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Conduct periodic quality checks and audits of MEP work at project sites.
Manage the preparation and submission of statutory approvals and compliance documentation.
Implement and enforce QAQC system in MEP
Work on best practices and implement the same
Maintenance and Handover
Coordinate with operations and facility management teams for smooth MEP handover post-completion.
Provide training for facility teams on MEP system usage and maintenance.
Troubleshoot and resolve any MEP-related issues post-handover.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
Lead a team of MEP engineers and coordinate with cross-functional project teams.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to team members.
Foster collaboration among stakeholders for seamless MEP execution.
