Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Design Head – MEP to lead our MEP design function. This role will be responsible for driving the design strategy, ensuring technical excellence, and managing end-to-end MEP design delivery for commercial fit-out and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of MEP designers and engineers
- Define and implement MEP design strategies aligned with project and business goals
- Oversee end-to-end design development including concept, detailed design, and documentation
- Ensure seamless coordination with architectural, structural, and execution teams
- Review and validate drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements
- Drive value engineering and cost optimization without compromising quality
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for design deliverables
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders for design approvals and alignment
- Stay updated with latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in MEP design
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field
- 10–15 years of experience in MEP design, preferably in commercial interior fit-out or design & build projects
- Strong technical expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems
- Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and other relevant software
- Solid understanding of local and international codes and standards
- Proven experience in leading and managing design teams
- Strong coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in handling large-scale commercial or industrial projects
- Exposure to value engineering and cost control strategies
- Familiarity with sustainability practices and green building standards (LEED, IGBC, etc.)
