Role Overview
BuildTeams is looking for an experienced Mentor from the architecture and design industry to guide early-career and mid-level professionals through career development, portfolio improvement, and industry readiness. This is a remote role focused on mentoring talent and bridging the gap between candidates and architectural firms.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor architecture, interior design, and allied design professionals through structured guidance, feedback, and career support.
- Review resumes, portfolios, and work samples, and provide actionable feedback to improve job readiness.
- Conduct one-on-one mentoring sessions, portfolio reviews, and mock interviews remotely.
- Guide candidates on industry expectations, professional workflows, and career progression paths.
- Identify skill gaps and recommend learning paths, tools, or industry resources.
- Converse with architectural firms to gain a clear understanding of their work culture, team size, office parameters, and projects handled.
- Engage in in-depth discussions with firms to understand hiring requirements, role expectations, and ideal candidate profiles.
- Collaborate with the BuildTeams recruitment team to align candidate mentoring with client needs.
- Share insights on current hiring trends, salary benchmarks, and evolving industry practices.
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical mentoring standards.
Requirements
- 35 years of professional experience in architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of architectural practice, office workflows, and project execution.
- Experience mentoring, guiding, or managing junior professionals is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setup and manage mentoring schedules effectively.
- Familiarity with current hiring trends and expectations in the architecture and design industry.
