As a QA team member, this role will be a part of an agile quality team and responsible for Validating & designing tests for various Quality aspects of a project through functional, integration, system & regression tests. This role would coordinate with various cross functional teams/ stakeholders to meet high quality standards.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Understanding requirements through stories Flow diagrams/High level scenarios
- Achieving test coverage through application of test case design techniques
- Proficient in designing test runs for various test factors (API, DB, Workflow), integration testing and reviewing test runs.
- When involved in testing, ensure test design is traceable to requirements and achieves a high test execution coverage.
- Knowledgeable on testing methodologies and principles, standards to generate test cases based on a testing strategy.
- Testing software modules by applying various types of testing and efficiently reporting the test results.
- Must be able to define / customize the regression testing process at an application level.
- Proficient in designing stubs / drivers for integration testing.
- Study test strategy documents and validate the test approaches for the strategies defined.
Technical Skills:
- Experience in testing web applications, databases and web services.
- Hands-on experience in functional & non-functional testing.
- Good knowledge of software QA methodologies, Test Coverage , Test Execurions , Error Codes, tools and processes.
- Experience in designing test cases for functional, API Testing and system tests.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Experience of SQL and API Testing tools like Postman
- Knowledge of project tracking tools preferably Jira.
- Exposure to code repository and build management tools like Bitbucket / GitHub and Maven / Jenkins etc.
- Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be a go-getter!
- Must be detail oriented with good analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Must have a positive mindset and attitude towards work. He should be able to collaborate with peers and work amicably with everyone.
- Takes initiatives, ownership and responsibilities to help the managers.
