Job Overview

We are looking for Member(s) of Technical Staff to join our engineering team and help build scalable systems that power our platform. In this role, you will work closely with product, engineering, and infrastructure teams to design and develop reliable software solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate about building high-quality systems, solving complex problems, and contributing to a collaborative engineering culture. This is an individual contributor role and is level-agnostic. We hire across levels for the right talent, with the final level determined based on the candidate's experience, performance during the hiring process, and alignment with the role, in consultation with the recruiter and hiring manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and Django.
• Database Optimization: Optimise database interactions with strong DBMS knowledge, ensuring efficient data handling and query performance.
• Technical Leadership: Lead technical initiatives, including architecture decisions, code reviews.
• Architectural Evolution: Evaluate the current Django monolith to drive performance improvements; collaborate with the team on the decision and potential execution of a migration to microservices (additionally exploring Rust or Go) as and when business demands scale readiness.
• Feature Delivery: Implement and manage DSP (Demand Side Platform) API and collaborate on React frontend integrations to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Infrastructure: Deploy and monitor applications on AWS, troubleshooting issues in a production environment.
• On Call: Participate in on-call rotations to address critical bugs and maintain system uptime.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of production work experience with scaled systems
• Language Mastery: Proven expertise in Python, Rust or Go, with a strong portfolio of hands-on projects.
• System Design: Strong background in RDBMS (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and a solid understanding of when to move from monoliths to microservices.
• Polyglot Potential: Must have worked with at least two or more languages.
• Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities, demonstrated through complex algorithmic challenges or real-world applications.
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (preferably Computer Science).
