Medical Coder

This is a full-time on-site role for a Medical Coder, based in Chennai. The Medical Coder will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing patient medical records to assign accurate diagnostic and procedure codes using standard classification systems. The role involves ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and requirements, validating coding accuracy, and providing coding feedback to healthcare professionals. Additional tasks may include maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and participating in audits to ensure proper billing and documentation practices.

• Proficiency in medical coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and analyze patient medical records accurately
• Familiarity with healthcare compliance requirements, billing processes, and insurance guidelines
• Relevant certification such as CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume environment
• Proficiency in medical coding software and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Previous experience in medical coding, particularly in anesthesia, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or radiology coding, is an advantage
