Job Summary
We are hiring Medical Coders / Senior Medical Coders / QA IP DRG with strong expertise in Inpatient DRG coding. The role involves accurate assignment of diagnostic and procedural codes in compliance with ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS guidelines, while maintaining high productivity and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign accurate diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS for inpatient medical records
- Abstract required clinical information from patient charts
- Ensure compliance with Official Coding Guidelines and documentation standards
- Apply strong knowledge of Medicare IPPS for inpatient coding
- Maintain productivity standards of 2.53 inpatient charts per hour
- Achieve and maintain 95% or higher coding quality
- Utilize coding tools such as Encoder, CAC, EMRs, and MS Office
- Handle complex inpatient cases including trauma, orthopedic, and cardiology (preferred)
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Any graduate with IP DRG / Inpatient Coding experience
- CCS or CIC certification Mandatory
- Strong knowledge of medical anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Thorough understanding of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and Official Coding Guidelines
- Good verbal and written communication skills
