We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager for our Medical Coding team specializing in HCC coding. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in medical coding and will be responsible for leading a team, ensuring compliance, and improving coding accuracy within our organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the HCC coding team to ensure accurate and timely coding of medical records.
- Develop and implement coding policies and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.
- Conduct regular audits and provide feedback to team members to enhance coding accuracy.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure thorough documentation of patient encounters.
- Stay updated with changes in coding guidelines and regulations to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
- Train and mentor junior coders and new hires on best practices in coding and documentation.
- Analyze coding performance metrics and implement strategies for improvement.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in medical coding with a focus on HCC (Hierarchical Condition Categories).
- Certification from a recognized body such as AAPC, AHIMA, or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Strong understanding of HCC coding guidelines and risk adjustment methodologies.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to ensure accuracy in coding.
- Strong leadership and team management skills to guide and develop a team of coders.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with clinical teams and provide training.
- Proficiency in coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
