Medical Coder - E/M IP

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable E/M IP Coder with a minimum of 3

years of experience to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will specialize in

inpatient coding, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and accurate

documentation of patient encounters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze inpatient medical records to determine appropriate E/M codes.

• Accurately assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes based on clinical documentation

and coding guidelines.

• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure coding

accuracy.

• Stay updated with coding changes, regulations, and best practices to maintain

accuracy and efficiency.

• Participate in audits and provide feedback to improve documentation and coding

quality.

• Assist in training and mentoring junior coding staff as needed.

• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA

regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in health information management or a related field (preferred).

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent

certification (preferred).

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in inpatient (IP) E/M coding.

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and inpatient coding

guidelines.

• Proficiency in coding software and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
