About the Role
Srijon Bhattacharya Consultancy is looking for a Media Relations Manager who understands how stories travel and how credibility is built with the press. This role requires someone who already has strong working relationships with journalists, knows how to pitch intelligently, and can shape narratives that earn coverage rather than chase it.
The Media Relations Manager will be responsible for driving earned media visibility across business, lifestyle, culture, and city publications, while maintaining a sharp, articulate brand voice.
Key Responsibilities
Build, maintain, and leverage strong relationships with journalists, editors, and media houses across print, digital, and broadcast
Conceptualise and draft press releases, media notes, story angles, and interview briefs
Proactively pitch stories and secure earned media coverage (pre-event, during events, and post-event)
Coordinate media interactions, interviews, press briefings, and on-ground media engagement
Ensure consistency of messaging and tone across all external communications
Track media coverage, prepare coverage reports and PR impact summaries
Work closely with internal teams on brand narratives, announcements, and thought leadership pieces
Required Skills & Qualifications
3 5 years of experience in media relations / public relations, preferably with exposure to events, brands, lifestyle, or culture
Demonstrated existing relationships with journalists and editors (mandatory)
Excellent command over written and spoken English clarity, tone, and articulation are critical
Proven ability to write clear, compelling, and accurate press releases
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; confident in dealing with senior stakeholders
Ability to think strategically while executing efficiently under timelines
