Job Summary
We are looking for a Mechanical Seal Design Engineer with strong technical knowledge in seal design, material selection, and application engineering. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting mechanical seals used in pumps, compressors, and rotating equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical seals (single, double, cartridge, metal bellows, rubber bellows).
- Prepare 2D & 3D drawings using AutoCAD / SolidWorks.
- Select suitable materials (carbon, silicon carbide, tungsten carbide, elastomers, metals).
- Perform design calculations related to pressure, temperature, speed, and shaft size.
- Support production, assembly, and testing teams for design-related issues.
- Modify designs based on customer requirements and application conditions.
- Prepare BOM, technical documents, and drawings for manufacturing.
- Coordinate with sales/application team for technical support.
- Ensure designs comply with API / ISO standards where applicable.
- Handle design validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of mechanical seal theory and applications.
- Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks,)
- Understanding of pump systems and rotating equipment.
- Knowledge of materials, heat treatment, and surface finish.
Preferred Skills
Experience in mechanical seal manufacturing industry.
- Exposure to API 682 standards.
- Customer handling and technical discussion experience.
Salary : 5.5 lacs -8.Lacs (As per industry standards / Based on experience )
