Role Overview:
We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Incharge to oversee the maintenance of plant machinery and utilities at our manufacturing facility in Samlaya. The candidate must have strong practical knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, steam and vacuum systems, along with experience in handling the mechanical side of boiler operations and leading a team of fitters and welders.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in edible oil or continuous process industries.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance Operations
- Ensure smooth functioning of all mechanical equipment in the plant
- Handle maintenance of:
- Pumps (centrifugal, gear, screw, etc.)
- Motors (alignment, coupling, basic troubleshooting)
- Valves (manual & control valves)
- Steam systems (pipelines, traps, PRVs, condensate systems)
- Vacuum systems (ejectors, vacuum pumps, condensers)
- Execute breakdown maintenance with minimal downtime
2. Boiler Maintenance (Mechanical)
- Oversee mechanical maintenance of boilers, including:
- Steam lines, valves, flanges, and insulation
- Feed water systems and pipelines
- Condensate recovery systems
- Coordinate with boiler operators for smooth and safe operation
- Identify and rectify steam leakages and pressure issues
3. Preventive Maintenance
- Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment history
- Identify recurring issues and implement corrective actions
4. Team Management
- Supervise and manage a team of fitters, welders, and technicians
- Allocate daily maintenance tasks and monitor execution
- Ensure discipline, productivity, and safety compliance within the team
5. Fabrication & Repairs
- Oversee welding, fitting, and on-site fabrication work
- Handle structural repairs, pipeline modifications, and equipment installation
- Ensure quality and safety in all fabrication jobs
6. Installation & Projects
- Assist in installation and commissioning of new machinery
- Support plant expansion and modification projects
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors when required
7. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and protocols
- Conduct regular safety checks on equipment
- Maintain proper documentation and compliance records
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong practical knowledge of:
- Steam systems and vacuum systems
- Boiler mechanical maintenance
- Industrial pumps, motors, and valves
- Good understanding of preventive and breakdown maintenance
- Hands-on experience in welding, fitting, and repairs
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues independently
- Leadership skills to manage shop-floor teams
- Basic documentation and reporting skills
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in edible oil, food processing, or continuous process plants
- Familiarity with refinery, solvent extraction, or related operations
