Job Title: Mechanical Expeditor – Structural Items Inspection

Location: Vendor locations at Por

Duration: 4 to 5 months

Experience Required: 8+ years total experience, including 1 to 2 years of expediting experience

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Expeditor with hands-on expertise in handrail and steel structure inspection for a project-based assignment of 4–5 months. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring and expediting the manufacturing, inspection, and delivery of structural items at the vendor's location to ensure quality, compliance, and timely execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expedite the manufacturing and inspection activities of structural items at vendor locations.
  • Carry out inspection follow-up for handrails, steel structures, and related fabricated items.
  • Monitor production progress against agreed schedules and highlight delays or bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate with vendors, inspectors, and project teams to ensure timely completion of activities.
  • Verify that materials and fabricated items meet project specifications, drawings, and quality requirements.
  • Track stage-wise progress of fabrication, inspection, testing, and dispatch readiness.
  • Ensure all required documentation, reports, and inspection records are maintained properly.
  • Follow up on non-conformities, corrective actions, and pending quality issues with vendors.
  • Provide regular status updates and expediting reports to the project/client team.
  • Support timely dispatch and delivery of inspected items as per project requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of total experience in mechanical/structural inspection, fabrication follow-up, or expediting.
  • Must have 1 to 2 years of expediting experience.
  • Strong experience in inspection of handrails, steel structures, and other structural items.
  • Good understanding of fabrication drawings, quality checks, and vendor inspection processes.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with vendors and project stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong knowledge of structural fabrication and inspection practices.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to identify delays and drive timely closures with vendors.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC documentation and inspection records.
