Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with strong expertise in power plant construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for execution, supervision, and coordination of mechanical construction activities, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and supervise mechanical construction activities for power plant projects (Thermal / Gas / Combined Cycle / Renewable specify as applicable)
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and BOQs for mechanical systems
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams to ensure smooth project execution
- Oversee installation of mechanical equipment such as boilers, turbines, pumps, piping, valves, pressure parts, ducts, and auxiliaries
- Monitor contractors and subcontractors for productivity, quality, and safety compliance
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and HSE requirements
- Conduct inspections, pre-commissioning, and commissioning support activities
- Resolve site technical issues and provide engineering solutions
- Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and support project documentation
- Liaise with vendors, consultants, and client representatives at site
Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech)
- 611 years of relevant experience in power plant construction projects
- Hands-on experience in mechanical erection and construction activities
- Strong knowledge of power plant equipment, piping systems, and erection methodologies
- Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO, etc.)
- Experience working with EPC contractors is preferred
- Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage
- Strong problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills
